A chance to meet in person at the Community Racism Conference

Roffey Millennium Hall near Horsham, West Sussex UK.

What happens when we stop seeing racism as something that only exists out there, and begin examining what may exist within ourselves and the systems we are part of?

Its a real privilege being invited to join other speakers and share something of my often painful story and journey of learning towards being a better ally against racism at this year's 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 organised by VOT Inclusive Communities CIC. My session will be titled: “Confessions of a Racist” and my aim will be to deliver a thought-provoking session drawing on my own personal and professional journey. I will reflect openly on the often uncomfortable and painful process of recognising racism, challenging deeply held assumptions and confronting the systems and environments that can shape the way we think and behave. I will share the powerful “Moments of Truth,” that challenged my understanding of racism and ultimately transformed my approach. The session is not about blame or judgement. It is about education rooted in real life experiences, honesty, reflection, and growth. ✅ What might we discover when we are willing to question ourselves? ✅ What are our own “Moments of Truth”? ✅ And what could change if we acted on what we learned?
